Walk one block from The Johnson’s Inn to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, where you’ll explore an underwater shark tunnel, get hands-on at Touch A Ray Bay, laugh out loud at the antics of Black-footed Penguins, and see over 10,000 more exotic sea creatures up close. Only a few more steps will bring you to Downtown Gatlinburg, a unique area filled with boutiques, souvenir shops, malls and unforgettable restaurants. Consider returning to nature with a five-minute drive to the entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As America’s most-visited national treasure, this park comprises over 800 square miles and is world-renowned for its animal activity, diverse plant life and ancient mountain views. Other outdoor activities are located a short distance away at Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort, several local golf courses and Rocky Top Sports World, a brand-new complex featuring seven outdoor fields and 86,000 square feet of indoor facility space.
